Long Island Resort is located in the enchanting Whitsundays and is a tropical island getaway surrounded by National Parks and sparkling blue waters. Long Island Resort's accommodation enhances the natural ambience of an island setting, where the aim is to allow privacy and ensure the highest level of service whilst still ensuring an intimate getaway.

This award winning Whitsunday resort is a popular haven for visitors to the Great Barrier Reef. While the children are being entertained in the kids club, relax under the palm trees on the beach or enjoy some of the countless island activities or explore the 20 kilometres of bush walks considered by many to be some of the prettiest in the Whitsunday Islands group.

The fun doesn't stop when the sun goes down. Enjoy the variety of evening entertainment at Long Island Resort including karaoke, musical acts, games night, casino night or beach party night. When the evening's entertainment is over, don't go to bed because the resort's disco continues through the night.

Garden Room: These rooms overlook the lush gardens featuring palms, ferns and tropical flowers. Bedding is 1 Queen + 1 Bunk Bed. Maximum room capacity is 3 Adults & Children. **From 1st April 2010 maximum room capacity is 3 Adults OR 2 Adults & 2 Children.**

Garden Family Room: Bedding is 1 Queen Bed + 1 Set of Bunk Beds OR 2 Single Beds + 1 Set of Bunk Beds. Maximum room capacity is 3 Adults OR 2 Adults & 2 Children. **From 1st April 2010 this room type will no longer be available.**

Beachfront Room: These rooms are set within metres of the beach and provide the perfect spot for viewing the sunset over the reef in Happy Bay. Bedding is 1 Queen + 1 Bunk Bed OR 1 Queen + 1 Single Bed. Maximum room capacity is 3 Adults & Children. **From 1st April 2010 maximum room capacity is 3 Adults OR 2 Adults & 2 Children.**

Beach King Room: Bedding is 1 King Bed. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults.

Honeymooners Beachfront Room: Bedding is 1 King Bed. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults. **From 1st April 2010 this room type will no longer be available.**

Dining

Palms Restaurant: Is the exquisite main dining restaurant for Long Island Resort. The Palms Restaurant offers inside and outside alfresco dining. Long Island Resort includes 3 buffet meals daily in the nightly room tariff to be enjoyed at the Palms Restaurant. Breakfast is served from 6.30am to 10.00am offering both continental and hot buffet selections. Lunch is served from 12.00pm to 2.00pm offering sumptuous hot and cold buffet. Dinner is served from 6.00pm to 8.00pm offering themed dinner buffets that change each evening complemented by a selection of quality wines and beverages. Long Island Resort's professional chefs can cater to most dietary requirements, however notice is required, please request prior to arrival.

Cafe Paradiso: Is an alternative informal dining venue offering meals, snacks and beverages at affordable prices. Enjoy a selection of gourmet delights such as pizzas, burgers and sandwiches. Special occasions can be catered for with romantic picnic hampers available for order and pick up from the Cafe. Open from 8.00am till 8.00pm daily.

Swim Up Pool Bar: With Long Island Resort's swim up pool bar you can enjoy a refreshing drink without leaving the cool waters of the resort pool. The Swim Up Pool Bar operates everyday of the year from 11.00am till late. Operation is dependent on the weather, swim up bar will be closed in cold and rainy conditions.

Kids Club: Long Island Resort is a family friendly destination offering a well organised Kids Club run by qualified childcare professionals. The best news yet is that this service is provided free of charge everyday as Long Island Resort believes parents and children should both have a holiday they'll never forget. The Kids Club is available to children aged 4 to 14 years of age. For children under the age of 4 years Long Island Resort provides a babysitting service at an additional cost; provided by professional staff in the comfort of your hotel room. This service must be pre-arranged with reception to ensure that a babysitter is available at your desired time.

Club times and sessions vary according to season.

During a Kids Club session your child can enjoy an array of organised activities such as treasure hunts, arts and crafts, face painting, fish and bird feeding whilst forming friendships with other children and learning about island plants and animals. Each session can cater for a maximum of 20 children. Please enquire at reception upon arrival at Long Island Resort.

Getting There

From Airlie Beach: Coach transfers from Airlie Beach accommodation pick up and drop off guests at Abel Point Marina or Shute Harbour for the ferry connection to/from Long Island. You will cruise direct or via South Molle or Daydream Islands with Cruise Whitsundays.

From Proserpine Airport: All arriving passengers are met by Whitsundays Shuttle drivers. Our transfer vehicle then takes you to Abel Point Marina or Shute Harbour for the Cruise Whitsundays ferry to Long Island. You'll cruise direct to Long Island or via South Molle or Daydream Islands. Coach times advised at time of booking.

From Hamilton Island: Daily launch transfer service with Cruise Whitsundays. Vessels arrive/depart from the jetty at the airport. You'll cruise direct to Long Island or cruise via Daydream or South Molle Islands.
