Great Keppel Island Resort is situated 15 kilometers off Queensland's Central Coast near Rockhampton. Great Keppel Island is just north of the Tropic of Capricorn and is ringed by 28 kilometers of beaches and bays. Situated at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, this holiday resort enjoys an ideal sub-tropical climate. Most of the island is natural bushland, and is a sanctuary for native flora and fauna. The resort itself offers great facilities including pools, a small shop, and casual beachside dining options. The resorts 181 rooms are 3.5 stars and offer casual, resort style, holiday accommodation, ideal for a relaxed holiday for the family, or perfect for that romantic getaway. With snorkelling, diving and an array of water sports to bushwalking, Great Keppel Island Resort has something for everyone. The Resort is undergoing a multi-million dollar refurbishment commencing 01 February 2008. This work is to be done in 3 stages with completion early August 2008. Work on Stage 1 is the Wreck Bar & Villas from 01Feb08-12Jun08. Stage 2 is the Garden Rooms and Spa from 01Feb08-05Jun08. Maximum room capacity is 3 Adults OR 2 Adults & 2 Children. [floorplan] dining;) Keppels Restaurant: Open daily for Breakfast 7.00am-10.00am, Lunch 11.30am-3.00pm & Dinner 6.00pm-9.00pm.Reef Takeaway: Open for takeaway & outdoor dining. Lunch is served daily from 11.30am-3.00pm and Dinner, Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday from 5.30pm-9.00pm. Keppel Convenience Store & Bakery: Open daily 8.00am-4.00pm for sandwiches, drinks, coffee and limited grocery items. Wreck Bar & The Sandbar: Open daily.
